About Me

I have enjoyed multiple careers over the past 46+ years since graduating from the USAF Academy. I have been an F-15 pilot, instructor pilot, weapons & tactics officer, and operational test pilot. I have served as a commander at flight, squadron, and wing levels; and as a staff project manager. I have been a test engineer, test director, operations research analyst, and modeling-simulation-analysis subject matter expert. And, I have taught at our nation's premier war college and in several doctoral programs. I have mentored, coached, counseled, and led people in the military, education, not-for-profits, and in the private sector. I have coached young people in sports, including serving as a high school baseball pitching coach.

I benefitted from a great and unique undergraduate education steeped in mathematics, engineering, science, and liberal arts. I have earned two master's degrees (History and Engineering Administration), and a PhD in Applied Management and Decision Sciences.

Through all of this, I have been and continue to be a huge proponent of the essential role of leadership in the success of organizations, but at the same time the skillful use of logic, systems thinking, knowledge, analysis, and strategic vision.

In short, I have had a full, productive, enjoyable journey through adulthood. It is my continued quest to benefit others, the community, and our nation by giving all I have to those who are similarly interested in leadership, logic, and analysis.
